Name: Chris Crowe
BYU employee since… 1989–93 at BYU–Hawaii; 1993 at BYU in Provo.
My job at BYU is… professor of English: I get to teach classes on creative writing and young adult literature.
I’m currently working on… a young adult novel tentatively titled "Lottery." I’m also working on a chapter about the history of young adult literature that will appear in "The Oxford Handbook of Young Adult Literature."
Touring many, many art museums with my wife changed the way I view art, especially contemporary art, because she helped me understand – and appreciate – art history, art theory and creative work in general.
My favorite lecture to teach is... the influence of postmodernism on young adult literature.
My favorite part about teaching is… getting to know and interact with such bright and enthusiastic students.
My go-to BYU Creamery ice cream flavor is… Graham Canyon.
One of my most cherished memories at BYU is... being a member of the 1974 football team that won a conference championship and played in the Fiesta Bowl.
My go-to comfort food is… the #3 Combo (fries, animal-style burger and Diet Coke) at In-N-Out.
One item on my bucket list is… touring Iceland with my wife.
