Roberts replaces Steve Hafen who was appointed vice president of administration and finance at BYU in June.

In his new position, which will begin Monday, September 21, Roberts will direct the university’s Publications and Graphics, University Relations, Special Events and Ticketing, Licensing and Trademarks, Aspen Grove and Alumni divisions.

Since 2013, Roberts has been the assistant dean and director of the Business Career Center in the Marriott School of Business where his responsibilities have included managing career development, experiential learning and networking for all graduate and undergraduate programs.

“Mike brings his tremendous experience in the industry, as well as his seven years at the Marriott School to this appointment,” Vorkink said. “He is a great strategic thinker and leader and has a passion for helping students in their development.”

Before his role at BYU, Roberts was a vice president at Hewlett Packard with more than 25 years of executive management experience in the high-tech industry. During his career, he has held executive leadership roles in marketing, finance, corporate strategy, research and development and operations.

Roberts earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from BYU and Oregon State University, respectively.
