Brigham Young University opened the doors to its new, much larger BYU Creamery on Ninth East on Thursday, Dec. 4. The new building is located on the west side of the parking lot of the original Creamery on Ninth.

“The Creamery on Ninth East is a very popular and frequently visited site on the BYU campus,” said Steve Hafen, administration vice president and CFO. “We’re excited for students, employees, alumni and the broader community to experience this new and improved facility.”

This new building features a 71 percent increase in size which allows for more grocery items and a larger dining area.

The grill has been expanded with a covered patio that will have heaters in the winter and misters in the summer. Customers can use the new walk-up window to order outside.

A formal grand opening celebration will take place in January.

The original building is now closed. Visited annually by more than 1.3 million guests, it has been the flagship store of the Creamery brand for over 20 years.
