Winter Choirfest showcases BYU audition choirs Feb. 6

The Brigham Young University Women’s Chorus, Concert Choir, BYU Singers and Men’s Chorus will combine to present “Winter Choirfest” Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets for the event are $10, with discounts available to students, alumni and senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased at the Fine Arts Ticket Office by calling (801) 422-4322 or by visiting byuarts.com/tickets.

The program will include portions of the Mozart Requiem as well as pieces by G.F. Handel, William Mathias and contemporary composer Dan Forrest. The BYU Percussion Ensemble will be featured with the BYU Singers as they perform Forrest's "Three Nocturnes."

The choirs will be led by their respective conductors: Jean Applonie, Women’s Chorus; Rosalind Hall, Concert Choir and Men’s Chorus; and Ronald Staheli, BYU Singers. Ron Brough directs the Percussion Ensemble.
