A new exhibition at BYU's Museum of Art titled "Splendor and Spectacle: Images of Dance from Court Ballet to Broadway" will open in the Warren and Alice Jones and the Paul and Betty Boshard galleries on the museum's lower level. Admission to the exhibition is free of charge. The exhibition will remain on display through Tuesday, January 1, 2008.

The Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum will host a Nature Experienceship for children aged 12 and up. The afternoon, beginning at 1 p.m., will be spent outside with Shawn Clark learning about the topic, "Insects." The cost is $10 per person and will last from two to three hours.

BYU Events Management is sponsoring a pinewood derby race for all interested racers of any age at 10 a.m. The cost is $7, which includes the car and tools. First-place prize will be $100, second-place prize will be $50 and third-place prize will be $25. Awards of $20 will also be given for "Most Creative," "Best in Show," "Best Finish," "Most BYU," "My Major on Wheels" and "Best Fuel Economy." Every Wednesday except July 4, the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum will host a Discovery Reading event where the public is invited to hear stories about animals and nature read by a professional storyteller. The event will be at the museum at 11 a.m. and there is no charge.
Every Saturday except July 7, the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum invites children ages 5 through 12 to come to the museum and learn about animals from all over the world by participating in their Saturday Safari program. The events will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The cost is $12 for the first child and $10 for each additional child in the same family.
Each week, with the exception of the first week of July, the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum will host a Wildlife Adventure for children ages 6 through 12. Each week-long adventure will consist of sessions held on Tuesday and Thursday, which will be spent at the museum and on field trips, respectively. The cost is $35 per child per week-long adventure.
