Victorian artist Arthur Rackham subject of Lee Library lecture Nov. 13

The Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University will host its next House of Learning Lecture, titled “Arthur Rackham: Scaring Children Out of the Nursery and the Contemporary Artists that Follow Him,” Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. in the library auditorium on level one. Admission is free.

The lecture will be given by Bethanne Anderson, an illustration professor at BYU. Anderson’s works have earned her the Jane Addams Children’s Book Award, the Boston Globe Horn Book Honor Award, and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Golden Kite Honor Book Award.

The lecture is in conjunction with the Victorian Illustrators exhibit of the L. Tom Perry Special Collections. Located on level one in the Special Collections gallery space, the exhibit displays Victorian illustrations from books, magazines, pamphlets and more. The exhibit will be on view to the public through spring 2014.  Admission is free.
