University updates several policies

The university has recently announced several updates in university policy (viewing these materials requires Route Y access):

Unemployment Compensation Policy —Added Executive Summary and updated to reflect current practice. 17 September 2003.

Student Non-discrimination Policy —Added Executive Summary and updated to reflect current practice. 17 September 2003.

Traffic/Parking Policy —Name change from "University Police Policy" to "Traffic/Parking Policy." Deleted fees and fines information and detailed explanations that are now contained on the University Police website. Deleted explanations of what each area of University Police does. 19 September 2003

Grievance/Administrative Review Policy —Added Executive Summary and updated to reflect current practice. 22 September 2003

Meals/Entertainment/Gifts/Social Activities Policy —Changed amount of annual dinner from $14.00 to $14.50. 29 September 2003

Nepotism Policy –Added Executive Summary and updated to reflect current practice. 27 October 2003

Access to Student Records Policy —Added Executive summary and updated to reflect current practice. 27 October 2003

BYU’s space ace: Minor planet named in honor of Jani Radebaugh

BYU planetary geology professor Jani Radebaugh’s contributions to planetary science have reached cosmic proportions as she recently received the prestigious honor of having a minor planet named her. The asteroid, previously known as “45690,” now bears the name “45690janiradebaugh” on official NASA/JPL websites.

BYU team helps create diagnostic tool that achieves accuracy of PCR tests with faster, simpler nanopore system

A new diagnostic tool developed by Brigham Young University and UC Santa Cruz researchers can test for SARS-CoV-2 and Zika virus with the same or better accuracy as high-precision PCR tests in a matter of hours.
