University Station Post Office closed until Aug. 18

Due to the impact of the East Campus Drive construction and some planned renovations, the University Station Post Office will be closed from May 20 to Aug. 18, 2013.

The Post Office Boxes will still be serviced during this closure, and any impact as a result of the remodeling will be minimal. Postal and shipping services are available in the basement of the Bookstore, and stamps are available at all Campus Copy Centers.

A recent BYU study, led by nursing professor Corinna Trujillo Tanner, examined social isolation in an especially vulnerable group — older adults with vision and hearing impairments. Researchers say the results, showing higher social connection in US Hispanic and Mexican older adults, can be explained by the shared ethnic cultural value of familismo that prioritizes family, respect for the elders, and reliance on one another for essential support.
