"Understanding the Volcker Report” topic of Kennedy Center lecture March 1

The David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies at Brigham Young University will host a Global Awareness Lecture, “The U.N. Scandal that Wasn’t: Understanding the Volcker Report,” Wednesday, March 1, at noon in 250 Spencer W. Kimball Tower.

Gregory B. Craig, a partner with Williams & Connolly LLP in Washington, D.C., will present the lecture. Admission is free and the public is welcome.

A prominent trial lawyer, Craig has successfully defended individuals and organizations in a number of high-profile criminal and civil proceedings. He has represented U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan in connection with the Volcker Commission's investigation of the Oil-for-Food Programme at the United Nations and Cuba's Juan Miguel Gonzalez in his successful effort to regain custody of his son, Elian. He also served as an assistant to President Clinton and Special Counsel in the White House during the impeachment proceedings.

Craig received a bachelor of arts from Harvard College, a diploma in historical studies from Cambridge University and a juris doctor degree from Yale Law School.
