Tina Taylor Dyches new associate dean at McKay School of Education

Dean Mary Anne Prater of the Brigham Young University David O. McKay School of Education announced the appointment of Tina Taylor Dyches as associate dean for research and graduate studies. Dyches will replace Barbara Culatta, who has served as an associate dean for 10 years.
 
Dyches has been a BYU faculty member for 18 years.  She received an undergraduate degree from BYU, and attended Utah State University for her master's degree and Illinois State University for her doctoral degree.

Her research interests include family issues in raising children with disabilities, children’s literature related to disabilities and multicultural issues in autism.

Dyches has mentored a multitude of graduate students for many years, particularly those in special education and school psychology programs.

BYU appoints Michael Hansen as chief strategic communications and messaging officer

Hansen has a long career in strategic planning, marketing and branding. Before serving as a mission president for the Church of Jesus Christ for the France Paris Mission from 2020 to 2023, he had been with Nike, Inc., for 20 years. From 2008 to 2020, he was the senior director of Global Sports Marketing.
