TIAA-CREF adds investment options for BYU employees

TIAA-CREF recently increased the number of investment options available to BYU personnel. In addition to the ten annuity options available in the past, 20 new mutual funds and lifecycle funds options have been added to the plan.

A representative from TIAA-CREF has scheduled two meetings at BYU on Thursday, March 22, to discuss TIAA-CREF Investment Solutions. The meetings will be held at 11 a.m.. in 3252 WSC and at 2 p.m. in 3380 WSC.

A recent BYU study, led by nursing professor Corinna Trujillo Tanner, examined social isolation in an especially vulnerable group — older adults with vision and hearing impairments. Researchers say the results, showing higher social connection in US Hispanic and Mexican older adults, can be explained by the shared ethnic cultural value of familismo that prioritizes family, respect for the elders, and reliance on one another for essential support.
