Third Annual Campus Showcase for BYU employees June 1 at Hinckley Center

Brigham Young University employees are invited to the Third Annual Campus Showcase Wednesday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitors Center Assembly Hall.

This event is for full- and part-time non-student employees and is hosted by the Office of Public Affairs and Guest Relations. Attendees may stop by at any time during the day, but an RSVP is required before Monday, May 23, by calling (801) 422-4678.

The showcase is an opportunity for employees to learn about the many services offered by BYU. The departments being showcased this year are Benefits Services, BYU Bookstore, BYU Broadcasting, BYU Police, BYU Studies, Dining Services, Harris Fine Arts Center Ticket Office, Office of Information Technology, Physical Facilities and Public Affairs and Guest Relations.

There will be refreshments, free take-away items and drawings for prizes, including tickets to football games, cultural events and more.

BYU study finds the real reasons why some people choose not to use artificial intelligence

In a recent study, BYU professors Jacob Steffen and Taylor Wells explored why some people are still reluctant to use GenAI tools. While some people might worry about an AI apocalypse, Steffen and Wells found that most non-users are more concerned with issues like trusting the results, missing the human touch or feeling unsure if GenAI is ethical to use.
