Tanise Chung-Hoon will direct BYU philanthropic efforts

Kevin J Worthen, advancement vice president at Brigham Young University, has announced the appointment of Tanise Chung-Hoon as LDS Philanthropies executive director for BYU. She replaces Bruce Snow, who will retire after 35 years of service, including the last 12 years as executive director of development at BYU.

“We are grateful to Bruce for his extraordinary contributions during his time with the Church and at BYU, and we wish him much success in this new era of his life,” said M. McLain Bybee, managing director of LDS Philanthropies, the fund-raising arm of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

“We are also looking forward to working with Tanise in her new assignment,” he said.

Chung-Hoon has been associated with LDSP for nine years, most recently as the director of the BYU Principal Gifts Office, working directly with the BYU President’s Leadership Council.

Prior to her employment with LDSP, she was assistant dean for development at the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Utah Valley University.

She received a bachelor’s degree in finance from BYU, where she lettered in women’s basketball, and went on to obtain a master’s degree in education from the University of Utah and a doctorate in educational leadership from BYU.
