Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony plan joint concert Dec. 7

Brigham Young University’s Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony will join in concert Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets, ranging from $6 to $10, are available through the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 422-4322. They can also be purchased online at byuarts.com.

The Symphonic Band, conducted by Kirt Saville, is one of BYU’s full concert bands comprised of 85 musicians. They will begin the concert by performing contemporary and classical works like “Early Light” by Carolyn Bremer, “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson and “Dance No. 2” by Bruce Yurko.

The Wind Symphony is BYU’s top symphony consisting of the finest woodwind, brass and percussion players at the university. They will be performing works by Sergei Prokofiev, Darius Milhaud and BYU alumnus Ryan Gee. The symphony is conducted by Don Peterson.
