Students' mentored projects on display during BYU expo March 2

Twenty Brigham Young University students will display the results of their mentored projects as undergraduates during the “To the Power of 2 Mentoring Expo” Thursday, March 2, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the Wilkinson Student Center Terrace.

Admission is free and all are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

“These students have published papers, won competitions, presented at professional conferences or otherwise distinguished themselves,” says Matthew Maddox, ORCA Mentoring Grants administrator. “Each of them has undertaken an advanced project under the direction of a BYU faculty mentor to accomplish more than they could have on their own.”

One student at the expo, Nghia Tran, has published journal articles and has already received offers for positions at Vietnamese universities. Several other students will show their accomplishments in engineering, literature, business, geography, biology and dance.

“‘To the Power of 2’ brings students together to show that a mentored project can help get you into top graduate schools or put you further down the path to achievement in life,” Maddox says. “We hope the expo will be inspiring.”
