Student instrumentalists showcased in "Evening of Concertos" March 8

The Brigham Young University School of Music presents an "Evening of Concertos" showcasing some of the School of Music's best student instrumentalists on Tuesday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets at $9 with $3 off with a BYU ID are available at the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 422-4322 or at http://performances.byu.edu.

The program will feature pieces from a variety of composers including Erik-Lars Larsson, Camille Saint-Saens, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Jean Sibelius.

The BYU Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Kory Katseanes will perform along with six students who were selected by instrumental teachers to perform solos in the concert. They will play piano, flute, trombone, double bass and violin.

The students selected include Kate Homer, Andrea Larson, Emily Outhier, Sara Inouye, Adam Beam and Dennis Contreras.
