Stan Taylor to address BYU International Forum Sept. 10

A BYU political science professor will speak as part of the International Forum Series on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at noon in 238 Herald R. Clark Building on the Brigham Young University campus.

Stan Taylor, former director of BYU's David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies and recipient of the International Society's 2003 Distinguished Service Award, will lecture on the topic "Ethics and International Affairs: A Personal Journey."

"Professor Taylor has been involved in international relations since before many of our current students were born," said Cory Leonard, Kennedy Center assistant director. "His expertise and experiences promise to be valuable, interesting and informative."

Taylor earned a degree in political science from BYU in 1959 and received both a master's degree and a doctorate from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

In addition to directing the Kennedy Center for almost three years, Taylor has been the chair of the Political Science Department at BYU, a Visiting Fulbright Lecturer at the University of Otago in New Zealand and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Kent in England. Taylor also worked as a consultant and a staff member for the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence from 1976 to 1986.

The lecture will be broadcast live on the Web at http://kennedy.byu.edu/events/index.html.

Contact Lee Simons at (801) 422-2652 for more information, or visit the Kennedy Center Web site at http://kennedy.byu.edu/events/ for archived lectures and a calendar of other upcoming events lectures.
