School of Social Work director Gordon Limb to give March 5 devotional

Gordon Limb, director of the School of Social Work at Brigham Young University, will be the campus devotional speaker Tuesday, March 5, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center. His lecture is titled “Recognizing and Responding to the Promptings of the Spirit.”

The devotional will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels and online at byutv.org. Rebroadcast information can be found through byutv.org/schedule. Archived devotionals are available at speeches.byu.edu.

Before he began teaching at BYU in 2005, Limb taught and researched social work at Washington University and Arizona State University. His primary research area is examining policy and practice issues that affect Native American families and children with a focus on American Indian child welfare issues.

Limb received a bachelor’s degree from BYU and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Utah in 1997. Later he earned his doctorate in social welfare at the University of California, Berkeley in 2000.
