Sarah Westerberg named associate dean of students at BYU

Janet S. Scharman, student life vice president, and Vernon L. Heperi, dean of students, have announced the appointment of Sarah Westerberg as associate dean of students at Brigham Young University.

She will serve with the current associate dean of students Jonathan K. Kau.

Westerberg hails from Billingham, England, and completed her undergraduate degree in geography at the University of Oxford as well as a post-graduate year there studying education.

After a year teaching high school in northern England, she worked as the first schools liaison officer at Oxford.

She arrived in the United States nine years ago and has served as the coordinator of Tutoring Services and director of the Center for Service and Learning at BYU.

She has completed a Master of Public Administration and will complete her Ph.D. in educational leadership at BYU early next year.
