RonNell Jones to discuss law as a career at BYU lecture Oct. 27

The David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies at Brigham Young University will host RonNell Anderson Jones, associate professor of law, Thursday, Oct. 27, at 4 p.m. in 238 Herald R. Clark Building. She will be speaking on “Career Reflections: Law.”

Jones teaches constitutional law, First Amendment legislation and media law at the J. Reuben Clark Law School. Prior to teaching at BYU, Jones was a distinguished faculty fellow at the University of Arizona Rogers Law School for four years (2004-2008), where she team taught an annual course about the U.S. Supreme Court with Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.

Her work on that project is regularly cited in debates on Capitol Hill and has been featured in the New York Times,Washington Post and USA Today, as well as on MSNBC, Fox News and National Public Radio. Her recent articles have appeared in the Minnesota Law Review, Washington Law Review and Washington & Lee Law Review.

Before entering academia, she was an attorney in the appellate division of Jones Day, where her work focused on Supreme Court litigation and included major constitutional and first amendment cases.
