Sorin Ducaru, Romanian Ambassador to the United States, will speak at Brigham Young University at noon Wednesday, Nov. 17 in the Harold B. Lee auditorium as part of the Global Focus Series and International Education Week.
Ducaru became ambassador to the United States in 2001 following a long diplomatic career. In 2000, he became a permanent representative of Romania to the United Nations in New York.
Born in Baia-Mare, Romania, Ducaru received a master of sciences degree in applied electronics from the Polytechnic Institute in Bucharest and completed his postgraduate studies at the Romanian National School of Political Science and Public Administration and the Amsterdam School of International Relations at the University of Amsterdam.
