Rohina Malik's one-woman show "Unveiled" at BYU's Nelke Theatre March 26

Rohina Malik, a Chicago-based playwright, actress and solo performance artist, will perform her one-woman play “Unveiled” at Brigham Young University Monday, March 26, at 5 p.m. in the Nelke Theatre.

Admission is free, but requires a ticket. Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Ticket Office in the Harris Fine Arts Center, (801) 422-4322, or visit byuarts.com/tickets.

In her engaging drama, five Muslim women in a post-9/11 world serve tea and uncover what lies beneath the veil.

Malik was born and raised in London, England, of South Asian heritage. She is a resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists, an artistic associate at the 16th Street Theater, and she was one of the four writers in the inaugural group of The Goodman Theater's Playwrights Unit.

“Unveiled” had its world premiere in May 2009 at the 16th Street Theater directed by Ann Filmer, where it received critical acclaim and the entire run and extension were sold out. “Unveiled” received a second production at the Victory Gardens Theater, a third production at Next Theater and a fourth production at Brava Theater, San Francisco.
