Rick Miller to present BYU devotional address Jan. 19

Brigham Young University’s weekly devotional will feature Rick Miller of the School of Family Life Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center. He will be addressing repentance and forgiveness in marriage.

The BYU Broadcasting channels will air the devotional live. Rebroadcast and archive information will be available at byub.org/devotionals or speeches.byu.edu.

Miller is a professor in the School of Family Life doing research in marital relationships over the life course, multicultural families, marriage and health and aging families. He started out his education at BYU majoring in Asian studies and family science. He went on to get a master’s degree from BYU in sociology in 1984 and received a doctorate in sociology from the University of Southern California in 1989.

Miller previously worked at Kansas State University for 11 years where he received the Myers-Alford Teaching Award in 1996. He joined the BYU faculty in 1999 and has served as director of the School of Family Life, associate dean in the College of Family, Home and Social Sciences and director of the BYU Gerontology Program.
