Prince Firas bin Raad of Jordan will be the featured speaker during Arab Awareness Week hosted by the Arabic Club at Brigham Young University Monday through Friday, April 10-14.
Admission to all events is free and the public is welcome.
A World Bank consultant on health issues, Prince Firas bin Raad will address “Middle East Health Initiatives” at an Area Focus Lecture Wednesday, April 12, at 3 p.m. in 238 Herald R. Clark Building hosted by the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies.
Raad previously worked for UNICEF and the Ministry of Health in Amman, Jordan, and he served as private secretary for health affairs to King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein of Jordan.
Other events during the week include lectures on Arabic topics, live Arabic music at lunch, a souvenir shop, movies, Arab cooking lessons, Friday prayer and a closing social.
