President Thomas S. Monson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and chair of the Brigham Young University Board of Trustees, will speak at the weekly BYU devotional Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center.
The devotional will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels and online at byub.org
President Monson became president of the Church on Feb. 3, 2008, having served as a member of the First Presidency since 1985. He became an apostle in 1963 and was a counselor to three Church presidents. He also served as president of the Canadian Mission and was a bishop and member of a stake presidency.
He graduated cum laude in business management from the University of Utah, and later earned an MBA from BYU. He had a distinguished career in publishing and printing, including a long association with the Deseret News.
