President Monson speaks at CES Fireside Sept. 7

President Thomas S. Monson of the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will speak at a Church Educational System (CES) fireside Sunday (Sept. 7) at 6 p.m. at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City.

The fireside will be broadcast live at the Marriott Center on the Brigham Young University campus, on the BYU-Television and BYU-Radio satellite networks, and on BYUBroadcasting.org.

The fireside will be re-broadcast Sunday, Sept. 14, on KBYU-TV (Channel 11) at 6 and 11 a.m., on BYU-Television at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., and on BYU-Radio at 6 p.m. It will also be re-broadcast on Sunday, Sept. 21, on KBYU-FM (89.1) at 8 p.m.

President Monson has served as second counselor in the First Presidency since November 10, 1985, to both President Howard W. Hunter and President Ezra Taft Benson. On March 12, 1995, President Monson was called to serve as first counselor in the First Presidency to President Gordon B. Hinckley. President Monson was ordained an Apostle on October 4, 1963 at the age of 36.

President Monson currently serves as a trustee of Brigham Young University and the LDS Church Board of Trustees.
