Popular MDT Showcase brings Broadway to BYU's Pardoe Theatre Feb. 12-13

Brigham Young University’s Broadway-caliber musical-theatre talent will take the stage for the annual Music Dance Theatre Showcase Thursday, Feb. 12, at 7:30 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 13, at 7 and 9 p.m. in a new, larger venue, the Pardoe Theatre, Harris Fine Arts Center.

Tickets are $11, or $8 with BYU or student ID, and may be purchased online at www.byuarts.com, by phone at (801) 422-4322 or in person at the Harris Fine Arts Center Ticket Office. All proceeds support the Music Dance Theatre scholarship program. The event typically sells out, so organizers encourage patrons to purchase tickets soon.

With old favorites from shows like “Singin’ in the Rain” and “Funny Girl” to new hits from “The Producers” and “Jekyll and Hyde,” each performance will feature a wide array of exhilarating song and dance.

“It’s true we’re on par with top MDT programs around the country,” said director Preston Sadleir. “But for us it isn’t just about performing. It’s about taking our values and integrity into the entertainment world, a place that’s badly in need of it.”

Other production team members include musical director Jeff Pew and choreographers Ashley Haycock, Daysha Hanneman, Summerisa Bell, Jeremiah Ginn, Courtney Pew, Ben Roeling, Mallory Cooney, Holly Christensen, Zach Hess and Ben Tichy.

For more information, contact Preston Sadleir at (801) 915-5166 or prestonsadleir@hotmail.com.
