Pianist Menahem Pressler in BYU recital Feb. 9

Legendary pianist Menahem Pressler will be performing Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Brigham Young University's Madsen Recital Hall. He will be joined by BYU faculty chamber artists Monte Belknap on the violin, Claudine Bigelow on the viola and Julie Bevan on the cello.

Tickets are $11 or $8 with a student ID and can be purchased online at byuarts.com, by phone at (801) 422-4322 or in person at the Harris Fine Arts Center Ticket Office.

The concert will include Mozart's Piano Quartet No. 2 in E flat major and Antonín Dvořák’s Piano Quintet No. 2 in A major.

A professor in the Indiana University School of Music, Pressler is among the world's most distinguished and honored musicians. His notable career includes performances in North America and Europe with the orchestras of New York, Chicago, San Francisco, London, Paris, Brussels, Oslo and Helsinki, among many others.

Pressler is also the founding member of the Beaux Arts Trio, an ensemble considered to be the world's leading piano trio for more than 50 years, according to The Washington Post.

Pressler has received many awards including the Honorary Fellow of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, the German President’s Deutsche Bundesverdienstkreuz First Class, Germany’s highest honor, and the Commandeur in the Order of Arts and Letters award, France’s highest cultural honor.
