Open house scheduled Aug. 8 for BYU MSW program

The Brigham Young University School of Social Work will host a question-and-answer session about applying to its master’s degree program on Friday, Aug. 8, from noon to 1 p.m. in 2198 Joseph F. Smith Building.

The meeting will include a discussion of details regarding the application process. The program’s application deadline is Jan. 15, 2009, for fall semester 2009 admission.

A new study published in PLOS ONE from BYU scientists finds that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is almost immediately nonviable if deposited on a cash banknote. The virus actually shows greater stability on plastic money cards, with the live virus still being detected 48 hours after initial deposition, but no viable virus was detected on either cash or card that was randomly sampled in the study.
