  • Stay on campus: $549
  • Stay at home: $479

This summer BYU is offering a new course designed to help 14- to 18-year-olds prepare to take the ACT. The ACT College Prep Camp features intensive science, English and math test prep courses taught by BYU professors and professional teachers who are experts in their subjects and the ACT. While participants are learning how to raise their ACT score, they will also try out the college experience by living in the dorms on BYU campus.

Offered through BYU Conferences and Workshops, the ACT College Prep Camp, will be held on July 14-19, and offers an ACT pre-camp test; intensive science, English and math test prep courses; and a post-camp ACT test evaluation that will give participants an accurate idea of what they can expect to score on the real ACT. The course instructors are professional teachers and BYU professors who know and love their subjects.

Admissions officers and career counselors will offer tips and advice about college admissions and careers. Special guest speakers, including former NFL player Chad Lewis, will provide inspiration. Students will also have lots of fun living in the dorms (Helaman Halls), meeting new friends and experiencing campus life.

“This is an opportunity for kids to come together and experience a week of college life, prepare for the ACT and college admission, meet new people and have fun,” said Joseph Roberson, camp director. “They can learn about digital photography, enjoy a science night activity, go on a scavenger hunt, have a Jamba Juice, go bowling, and check out the planetarium, the BYU Creameries and other campus attractions.”

There are several registration options available for the camp:

  • Stay On Campus (includes housing and all meals): $549
  • Stay At Home (includes lunch, dinner and all camp features except housing): $479
  • Test Prep Only (includes all ACT test prep classes, lunch and BYU Test Prep’s guarantee): $329

For information about financial aid for this camp, contact Joseph Roberson (801-422-5078). High school credit is available for attending the camp.

Registration is limited for these new camps, so register early to reserve your space. For more information, go to ce.byu.edu/cw/act
