New BYU exhibit seeks letters from students to faculty

BYU faculty and staff are invited to participate in a permanent, museum-quality exposition, "To Learn in the Light: Stories of Education and Faith" to be located in the new Joseph F. Smith Building.

Exhibit workers are currently collecting letters written to BYU, BYU-Idaho, BYU-Hawaii and LDS Business College faculty or staff from students expressing how that person dramatically and positively influenced their lives.

"This is an amazing opportunity to preserve a loved one's educational legend, while inspiring others about the impact one life can have on another," said exhibition director Terry Warner, who recognizes these letters are family heirlooms. "The letters will be safely returned after a professional replica is made for the exhibit."

The exhibition is scheduled to open in spring 2005, so letters are needed as soon as possible. To participate in the project or to obtain more information, please contact Clark Webb at the Education in Zion Project at ext. 2-6519 or visit http://exhibit.byu.edu.
