Member of Scottish Parliament to discuss Scotland independence at BYU Oct. 11

Brian Adam, a member of the Scottish Parliament, will present “Scotland on the Road to Independence” at a Brigham Young University European Studies Lecture on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 3:30 p.m. in 238 Herald R. Clark Building.

Adam has been a member of the Scottish Parliament since 1974. He is currently the Parliament’s Deputy Convener of the Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee. Prior to 1999, he was a principal biochemist at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and a trade union activist.

Born in Newmill, Banffshire, Scotland, Adam received a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and a master’s degree in clinical pharmacology from Aberdeen University.
