Brigham Young University professor and author Margaret Young will read selections from her works Friday (Nov. 22) at noon in 2084 Jesse Knight Humanities Building.
Young will read as part of the English Department's reading series, which affords students the opportunity to hear internationally known writers and serves as a forum for local artists to share and discuss their works.
A professor of English, Young has written several fictional novels and two popular plays based on actual events. "Dear Stone" chronicles how a Latter-day Saint family deals with a mother who has multiple sclerosis. "I am Jane" tells the tale of African-American Latter-day Saint pioneer Jane Manning James.
Young has won several awards for her works, including BYU's 1996 Lewis Playwriting Competition.
