Lee Library construction necessitates stairway, floor closures

The Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University is currently under construction for spring and summer terms.

Reconstruction and repair work are being done on the north end of the library’s fifth level, with various walls, ceilings and light fixtures being repaired or replaced.

Due to the potential hazards and general inconvenience of the construction, the north end of the fifth floor and the north stairway from the fourth floor are off-limits to library patrons.

Students, faculty and others can still get books and materials they need from that area, but they must use the library’s paging system to do so. Paging requests are taken at the reference desk on the fifth level and materials are retrieved after 5 p.m. each day. Patrons should use the south stairway or south elevators.

Library personnel will then telephone or e-mail patrons to inform them that their requests are available at the reference desk for pickup.

The north end of the library’s fifth level will remain off-limits through most of the summer to ensure patron safety and completion of the construction before fall semester begins.
