Lawrence Green to present BYU faculty guitar recital Nov. 9

Lawrence Green, professor of guitar at Brigham Young University’s School of Music, will present a faculty guitar recital featuring some of his own compositions Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission is be free and the public is welcome to attend.

Songs on the program will include “Verano Perteño” by Astor Piazzolla, Green’s “Variations on the Hymn Tune, Kingsfold” and “Taquito Militar” by Mariano Mores.

Green earned a bachelor’s degree at BYU and a master’s degree at Arizona State University, both in music. He has been teaching at BYU for 23 years and his publications include “Lawrence Green’s Great Big Guitar Method” and “50 Hymns and Carols.” Green is also a founding member of the band Crazy Coyote, which he started with his wife.
