Japanese Yen topic of BYU Global Focus Lecture Dec. 8

Hiroshi Ogai, professor emeritus of international finance at Keiwa College in Niigata, Japan, will speak at Brigham Young University as part of a Global Focus Series lecture Wednesday, Dec. 8 at noon in 238 Herald R. Clark Building.

As the director and chief economist with Meiko Securities Company in Tokyo from 1986 to 1992 and as the head of the International Treasury Department at Sumitomo Bank Tokyo's main office from 1979 to 1985, Ogai comes to BYU with a background of experience to address "The Post-war History of the Japanese Yen: An International View."

Ogai graduated from Nagoya University in 1953 and studied as a Fulbright scholar at Princeton University from 1954-1955.
