Janie Penfield to present BYU devotional address Feb. 5

Janie Penfield, associate athletic director at Brigham Young University, will be the campus devotional speaker, Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center. Her lecture is titled "Live Your Life With Purpose."

The devotional will be broadcast live on the BYU Broadcasting channels and online at byutv.org. Rebroadcast and archive information will be available at byutv.org or speeches.byu.edu.

Penfield is the associate athletic director and senior woman administrator at BYU. She currently serves as the sport administrator for men’s and women’s cross country, women’s gymnastics, women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track.  She also oversees human resources, the spirit squads, and other internal operations and serves on a variety of campus committees, including the Homecoming Committee, the Women’s Conference Committee, and the Honor Code Advisory Council. 

From 2006 to 2010 Penfield served on the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee. As a senior woman administrator, Penfield serves as a representative to the NCAA and is a member of the West Coast Conference Executive Council and the Administration and Operations Cabinet.
