Jane Clayson Johnson to speak at BYU March 29

Will also autograph new book, “I Am a Mother”

Jane Clayson Johnson, former co-anchor of CBS’ “The Early Show” and a Brigham Young University alumna, will visit campus to speak on “A Few Things I Wish I’d Known Before I Went Out Into the World” Thursday, March 29, at 11 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Admission is free, and the public is welcome.

After her presentation, Johnson will autograph copies of her new book, “I Am a Mother,” recently published by Deseret Book.

Since graduating from BYU with a degree in journalism in 1990, Johnson has worked as a reporter and anchor for KSL-TV in Salt Lake City and as a correspondent for ABC News, where she reported for “World News Tonight with Peter Jennings” and “Good Morning America.” Her assignments with ABC included covering the O.J. Simpson trial and the 1996 presidential election. Upon going to work for CBS, Johnson joined Bryant Gumbel in anchoring “The Early Show.”

Johnson’s work garnered an Emmy and the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio and Television News Directors Association of America. In 2004, she was also awarded an honorary doctorate from Utah State University.
