Hitchcock’s “Foreign Correspondent” at BYU film archive series Jan. 13

The Brigham Young University Motion Picture Archive Film Series will kick off a new semester and a new year with a showing of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Foreign Correspondent” Friday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m in the Harold B. Lee Library auditorium.

The event is free, and doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for the 120-minute film.

The movie, which stars Joel McCrea, Utah-born Laraine Day and Herbert Marshall, tells a tale of Nazi espionage in World War II.  The movie includes many cinematic tricks common to Hitchcock’s movies.

Day, whose personal papers are preserved in the L. Tom Perry Special Collections of the Lee Library, was born in 1920 in Roosevelt, Utah, and was discovered by talent scouts in California. She starred in many movies and even had her own television interview show.
