Brigham Young University’s School of Music presents “From Russia with Love,” an all-Russian performance by guest cellist Nathan Jasinski Friday, Oct. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.
Preceding his performance, Jasinski will offer a master class Thursday, Oct. 2, at 5:30 p.m.
Both the master class and the recital are free and all are welcome to attend.
A frequent recitalist, Jasinski has performed in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, as well as throughout the United States.
He has recorded two CDs, “Bachsche Abendmusik” and “Weihnachten in Dornheim,” both in the historic St. Bartholomäus Kirche in Dornheim, Germany, with BYU faculty organist Douglas Bush. He is the cellist of the Fero Trio and the Iven Street Trio.
Jasinski serves as a professor of cello at Eastern Kentucky University. Prior to this appointment, he taught at Bowling Green State University and Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. He has worked with young musicians at the Michigan All-State at Interlochen, Ann Arbor Festival for Young Artists , Shell Lake and Steven Collins Foster music camps.
