Guest artist Jerry Wong presents piano recital March 6

The Brigham Young University School of Music presents guest artist Jerry Wong in a piano recital Saturday, March 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

The performance is free and the public is welcome to attend.

The program will include music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Leopold Godowsky, Ferruccio Busoni, John Harbison and Frédéric Chopin.

Wong, assistant professor of piano at Kent State University in Ohio, has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. His performances have been featured on National Public Radio, Finnish National Radio, Radio Video Mediterranean, Nippon Television and the Living & Travel section of msnbc.com.

His many prizes and awards include the IBLA Grand Prize Competition in Italy, the Prix-Ville de Fontainebleau in France, the Bartók–Kabalevsky-Prokofiev International Piano Competition in Virginia and the Grace Welsh Competition in Chicago.

Wong holds performance degrees from Indiana University, the Peabody Conservatory and the Manhattan School of Music, where he received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree.
