"Good Morning, Miss Dove" to be screened at BYU film series March 26

Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Jones stars as a schoolteacher whose influence reverberates in the lives of her students in "Good Morning, Miss Dove" to be shown Friday, March 26, at 7 p.m. in the Harold B. Lee Library Auditorium at Brigham Young University.

Doors open at 6:30 PM. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Children ages 8 and over are welcome. BYU dress standards apply.

Jones, who passed away in December 2009, won a Best Actress Oscar in her first major film, "The Song of Bernadette," and was married for a time to legendary producer David O. Selznick, who starred his wife in "Since You Went Away," "Portrait of Jennie" and "Duel in the Sun."

Released in 1955 and directed by Henry Koster, "Good Morning, Miss Dove" provided one of the greatest roles of her career as "Miss Dove," a stern teacher in a small New England village whose students realize her deep influence on their lives when she is struck down by a serious illness. "Good Morning, Miss Dove" also features Robert Stack and a host of character actors, including Chuck Connors.

The BYU Motion Picture Archive Film Series is an ongoing series of classic American motion pictures from the permanent collection of the BYU Motion Picture Archive at BYU’s L.
