German diplomat to discuss U.S. relations Oct. 28 at BYU

Hans Arnold, former head of the German Foreign Office and ambassador to the United Nations, will present an Area Focus Lecture titled “Europe and the U.S.—Where Do We Go From Here?” Friday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. in 238 Herald R. Clark Building.

Arnold, who has helped define U.S.-German relations for nearly half a century, is a lecturer at the Academy for Political Science in Munich.

He served in the German Foreign Service from 1951 to 1986, where his foreign posts took him from Paris to Washington, D.C., with service as an ambassador in Den Haag and Rome.
