Garrick Woods to present BYU faculty cello recital Oct. 19

Brigham Young University will present a faculty recital featuring impressionist works for cello performed by Garrick Woods Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall. The performance is free.

The recital will involve the several members of the Woods family. Woods will be joined by his father, pianist Rex Woods, a faculty member at the University of Arizona, and his brother, violinist and fellow BYU faculty member Alex Woods.

The recital will begin with a solo cello suite by Gaspar Cassadó followed by a sonata for cello and piano by Claude Debussy. Following intermission the performance will conclude with another sonata for violin and cello by Maurice Ravel.
