Free "Stories from Around the World" kids program at BYU museum Fridays

The Brigham Young University’s Museum of Peoples and Cultures will begin this year’s “Stories from Around the World” program at 11 a.m. in the museum each Friday starting Sept. 7. The museum is located at 700 N. 100 E. in Provo.

This free program for preschoolers and young children will share folktales from different cultures or stories about young children in other places of the world. It is designed to promote learning and awareness of the great diversity of the world.

“Stories are a great way to introduce young children to other peoples and cultures,” said Kari Nelson, curator of education at the museum.

Each week storytellers read books with the children to enhance learning, followed by a simple activity related to the tales. The program lasts 30-45 minutes each week.

For more information, contact the museum at 801-422-0020.
