Free copies of New York Times available during spring, summer terms

The David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies has announced that free copies of The New York Times are now available on racks located in the Herald R. Clark Building for the remainder of spring and summer terms.

BYU is one of more than 1,000 schools nationwide to benefit from The New York Times Partners in Education program. The program is designed to encourage members of the university community to keep abreast of current affairs, including international news and events.

The Current Events Student Association, sponsored by the Kennedy Center, works with the Times to provide student discussions, events and an Honors course taught by Ray Christensen of the Political Science Department.

The Kennedy Center also hosts a Partnership Lecture each fall and winter semester. During winter semester 2005, Ethan Bronner, international editor at The New York Times, spoke on “Ethical Dilemmas in Reporting on the Middle East.”

For more information, contact the Kennedy Center at (801) 422-3377 or go online at kennedy.byu.edu.
