Field studies in Africa topic of Kennedy Center lecture

The David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies at Brigham Young University will host an International Field Studies Lecture presented by Leslie Hadfield on Friday, March 10, at noon in 238 Herald R. Clark Building.

Hadfield, a doctoral candidate in African history at Michigan State University, will discuss her experiences in South Africa in her lecture, “I Have Crossed Famous Rivers: My Trip from South Africa to a Ph.D. Program.”

She traveled to South Africa with a group field study program in fall 2000 and returned in fall 2002 as a student facilitator.

After completing a bachelor’s degree in history at Utah State University, Hadfield received a master’s degree in history at Ohio University, which has a strong African studies program.
