Faculty Women's Association announces awards, board members

Results from the Brigham Young University Faculty Women’s Association awards and elections were announced at its Spring Retreat.

Award recipients included:

Citizenship Award — Elaine Walton, associate dean, Family Home and Social Science.

Creative Work Award — Cheryl B. Preston, the Edwin M. Thomas Professor of Law, J. Reuben Clark Law School.

Scholarship Award — Mary Anne Prater, department chair, Counseling, Psychology and Special Education.

Teaching Award — Mary Jane Woodger, professor, Church History and Doctrine.

In addition, the association elected three new board members who were announced at the retreat: Lora Beth Brown, Laurie Urquiaga and Doris Dant, who will be serving as president-elect, treasurer and historian, respectively.

The FWA is also looking for help on the following committees: leadership, advancement and promotion, awards, professional faculty issues and part-time faculty issues.
