Etiquette in the professional world topic of BYU lecture Dec. 2

Kaye Hanson, a professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership and Strategy at Brigham Young University, will advise students on how to survive in a world that sends mixed messages regarding professional etiquette at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 in the Harold B. Lee Library auditorium.

"How can we at BYU understand who we really are and how we are expected to be in a world of conflicting messages?" Hanson asks. Her lecture, "A Matter of Manners: The Corporate World Demands More Than the Right Fork," will help answer that question.

Hanson's interest in the topic of business communications and etiquette stems from interacting with students who are exposed to what she calls the "casualing of America," which has blurred the line between informal and professional relations, making communications awkward for students entering the workforce.

The lecture is sponsored by the Lee Library as part of its ongoing House of Learning Lecture Series. All are welcome to attend.
