Elder Earl C. Tingey to address CES fireside Jan. 13 at Marriott Center

Elder Earl C. Tingey, a member of the Presidency of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will address a Church Educational System Fireside Sunday, Jan. 13, at 6 p.m. in Brigham Young University’s Marriott Center.

The fireside will be broadcast live on the BYU Television and BYU Radio satellite networks and at byubroadcasting.org. Rebroadcast information is available at byubroadcasting.org.

Elder Tingey was called to the Presidency of the Seventy on Aug. 15, 1996, having previously served as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy since Dec. 5, 1990. He also served as president of the Utah South Area and in the Africa Area Presidency.

Before being called as a General Authority, Elder Tingey worked as a corporate attorney for Kennecott Copper Corp. He graduated from the University of Utah Law School and received his master’s degree from New York University.

BYU planetary geology professor Jani Radebaugh’s contributions to planetary science have reached cosmic proportions as she recently received the prestigious honor of having a minor planet named her. The asteroid, previously known as “45690,” now bears the name “45690janiradebaugh” on official NASA/JPL websites.
